It's not uncommon to meet someone who lives in New Orleans who says "I came here for a weekend. I fell in love with the city, and that weekend lasted the rest of my life." At The Okra Inn, we want to be the place that makes you fall in love with New Orleans.

At either location, The Okra Inn isn't your average place to stay in New Orleans. It's your home away from home, a cozy lodge providing a comfortable spot for travelers to rest after exploring our amazing city. It's a tangible symbol of the charm, the quirks, the out-and-out fun that makes our town The City That Care Forgot. And it's a gathering space where people come together from around the country and around the world.

Each of our properties is available either by the individual room or as a vacation rental - that is, renting all or part of the space privately for a group of guests. Each has six total bedrooms: four queen, one full, and two twin beds. Each has access to kitchen, living room, and dining room spaces included with your stay.

We're a short walk to the Canal Streetcar line, which will take you down Canal Street to the border of the French Quarter and the Central Business District - right to the food, music, and nightlife that make New Orleans famous. But don't ignore our neighborhood itself- there are more than 50(!) locally owned restaurants, more than a dozen local bars, several full grocery stores, and the outstanding City Park, all less than two miles from us.

We strive to create a quirky but comfortable environment.  We work with local artists to have their art on display to increase their exposure. And we are constantly exploring ways to make The Okra Inn a greater resource to the community and more environmentally sustainable.
